Principal

Dr. Kathya Arriaran-Buono the new Principal of Palmdale Academy Charter School, is a distinguished educator with over fifteen years of experience in education. She started her educational career teaching English Learners and spent ten years teaching that population. 

Although new to the Palmdale Promise family, she comes to us with over seven years of leading successful Charter High Schools. Dr. B, as she is affectionately called by her students and colleagues, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, a Master’s Degree in Education, and a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership.

Dr. B’s educational background and personal experience has shaped her philosophy of education. She is a service leader that believes in the power of education and has an unwavering commitment to her students, families, and teachers.  Dr. Buono is a proud first-generation college graduate who persevered against many obstacles in the pursuit of her education and is excited and ready to do the same for her incoming students.
